incuto’s first team get together since 2020

At the start of September, the entire incuto team finally got the chance to get together for the first time since 2020. It was great to all be together in person for our team day, and for some it was the first time getting to physically meet their colleagues! Our local sports club in Ilkley was the perfect venue for our busy day of team building, key-note presentations, sports breaks and a tasty BBQ.

The day started off relaxed and we enjoyed having the time to catch up with our colleagues on life in general! We find that the best way to build a great team is by having the chance to properly get to know each other, finding out what things we have in common and what we can bond over. The room quickly became filled with interesting conversation… and lots of laughter!

Presentations and guest speakers

Throughout the day we listened to and discussed key-note presentations. In these presentations we focused on our purpose - putting credit union members first. It was great to be together as a team and discover how we can work together to make sure our purpose is at the forefront of all we do at incuto. We also took a look at what we want to achieve in our multi-year strategy. Brainstorming together in person was productive and fun… so watch this space for some exciting things coming your way!

Ian Brewer from Bradford District CU sharing an insight into his work with the team

We were lucky enough to be joined by some inspirational guest speakers. Ian Brewer, Community Developer for Bradford District Credit Union presented the great work that credit unions do within their communities, as well as the support they offer to their payroll partners. Us being one of them! This was the perfect opportunity for the team to build on their understanding of credits unions and how they work.

We were also joined by Juli Thompson and Tess Wilkins from FoodSavers, an innovative project merging credit unions and food pantries. The project offers high quality fresh and store cupboard food for a low weekly membership fee, as well as chances to attend cookery classes and opportunities to create savings in a recognised credit union. We loved the project’s strapline - ‘Food for Health not Wealth,’ and really resonated with their aims in offering people dignity, choice and empowerment.

Highlights

Our day was packed full of information, education and lots of fun team building opportunities! After interesting discussions, croquet games and football breaks, we ended the day with one last, tasty, team building activity. The incuto team all helped with the creation, preparation and cooking of a well deserved BBQ. We were even joined by Les, one of our founding members, who popped in to join us in the afternoon. It was lovely to spend time with someone who has been part of the incuto journey from the start.

We hope to hold more in person days for the team, and have more chances to meet key partners and organisations who share our passion and values
