Cloud Security Engineer - Cloud GCP

incuto is an exciting, fast-paced, socially motivated Software-as-a-Service platform aimed at Credit Unions and Community Banks. We’re delivering a technology solution for organisations who are supporting some of the most vulnerable and financially excluded people in the UK, with innovative solutions including access to online banking services, automated lending decisions, payment services, virtual banking and financial education. Having recently raised investment, we’re at a pivotal point in our growth and this role is a key part of our strategy to strengthen our security and compliance capability.

Daily responsibilities of a cloud security engineer include:

  • Be the company’s first line of defence against potential security threats

  • Build, maintain, upgrade and continuously improve cloud networks and cloud-based systems.

  • Responsible for the operations of secure cloud infrastructure, platforms, and software.

  • Install, maintain, and upgrade the organisation’s cloud computing environments and core infrastructure.

  • Implementing and testing strategies, reporting on any incidents for future preparation, keeping track of the status of network security, and educating other employees to raise security awareness.

  • Pinpoint any potential threats, they also know how to plan and prepare before any security threats take place.

  • Creating cloud-based programs including implementing identity and access management and securely configuring cloud environments.

  • Performing threat simulations and penetration tests to identify and detect possible risks.

  • Providing security recommendations on service design and application development and coding.

  • Managing cryptography and encryption of data in the cloud.

  • Logging, monitoring, and responding to detected incidents in the cloud environment.

  • Work with developers and other teams to implement and integrate Cloud Security solutions

.Skills & Experience - Must Have:

  • Experience working with public cloud, in particular GCP and the GCP security command centre.

  • Hands-on experience implementing technical controls and automation to meet compliance of information security frameworks (IS027001, ISAE3000/SOC2, SOC1, GPDR and PCI DSS)

  • Experience withdeveloping, implementing, auditing and improving information security policies and procedures aligned to relevant industry frameworks/standards.

  • Expertise and knowledge of cloud networking architecture, cloud operations, security, automation and orchestration.

  • Provide a detailed understanding of cloud security and cloud infrastructure services, threat landscape and attack scenarios, risks, security operations and application security best practices.

  • Design, develop, administer, and/or maintaining the security of GCP cloud environment with a clear passion for cloud security and cloud technologies,

  • Perform periodic audits, reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT security standards, processes and procedures.

  • Ability to perform Business Impact Analysis, risk assessment and treatment.

  • Excellent communication skills.

Skills & Experience - Nice to have:

  • Experience in building and deploying applications on the Cloud, using CI/CD frameworks and Infrastructure automation, such as: Terraform, Jenkins,

  • DevOps experience

  • LINUX experience
